Volunteer Day at ToyMakers of East Lake

“We were grateful to have the opportunity to volunteer recently at The Toymakers of East Lake. As a pediatric nurse that works with children with special healthcare needs and with chronic conditions, I am able to see the impact The Toymakers have made at various local pediatric facilities. These children may require frequent visits to outpatient clinics to see specialists and may occasionally require hospital stays. When these children receive a decorative, hand-crafted toy provided by The Toymakers, their face lights up and you can see their excitement and gratitude in their smiles and expressions. Several teens in the Pasco area that attend Wiregrass Ranch High School, Sun Lake High School, and Florida Virtual School have been friends for several years and met through competitive dance and school. These teens volunteer frequently within the community and recently stated that helping with The Toymakers was a wonderful, fun experience and opportunity!! To know that volunteering to help contribute with the detailed process of hand-crafting each toy to brighten the lives of these children make it a wonderful and invaluable experience!! “
