The Toymakers of EastLake is a Non-profit organization centered around making wooden toys for sick and underprivileged children.

The time and effort put in to hand craft so many beautiful pieces for the children of our surrounding communities is second to none.

Along with the effort comes the safety aspect of getting the job done the “Right Way”. Brent Dawkins Toymakers very own “Top Brass” craftsman and equipment guru took the time out of his busy schedule to host a training class on Shop Safety and the Toy making process with various machines.

Brent’s first order of business for shop safety was “Water”.  Yes, in his beautifully crafted British accent “folks we must stay hydrated to ensure everyone is operating at optimal and appropriate levels”.

Then it was onto the proper way to use and service the various donated high powered machines we are so blessed to have. “If you’re using it, make sure you’re cleaning it”; This proper practice ensures the longevity of the machine and a first class cut or buff everytime  we use it.

Thank you again Brent for your knowledge and expertise to ensure all Toymakers are safe while giving back.
